Two Pennsylvania residents killed in car crash over the weekend

After a car accident closed Route 145 in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, over the weekend, law enforcement officials were finally able to identify the victims. Police have reported that a 41-year-old female was killed in the collision, as was a 16-year-old male from Whitehall. Authorities know his name but have decided to keep it from the public.

The automobile accident took place on Saturday, February 23, at approximately 6 p.m. on Eberhart Road in Whitehall Township, a suburb of Allentown.

According to sources like The Associated Press and television news station WFMZ-TV, an individual in a pick up truck was driving fast it hit another vehicle turning onto Route 145. That car burst into flames and killed the 41-year-old and 16-year-old inside.

Two people in the truck were injured and taken to local medical centers for treatment related to serious injuries.

Route 145 was closed for hours while rescue teams and law enforcement officials evaluated the scene for details as to what led to the crash.

Investigators have said that they are going to recreate the accident to see if that can help provide any clues but did not elaborate further.

The AP reported that local police stations ask that anyone with information contact authorities right away.
