According to police, the impaired driver — who allegedly does not have a driver's license — was driving down 5th Street when he collided with two other vehicles that were moving southbound on Roosevelt Boulevard. The wreck resulted in the driver's passenger, a 45-year-old woman, being killed.

"Fire department paramedics had to cut her out of the vehicle, they transported her to Einstein Hospital where she died," authorities said.

The impaired driver was also taken to this hospital for treatment. Police said they plan to charge him for the crash, driving without a license and driving while under the influence. Although police are confident he was intoxicated, they have not concluded whether it was because of alcohol, drugs or both.

While one of the other three individuals hurt in the car accident was trapped in the wreckage and had to be pulled out by fire rescue crews, all four suffered only non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Castro Street. The teen was crossing the street while waiting for the school bus when he was hit by a passing car for reasons unknown. The driver immediately exited the car, called the police and assisted the teen until an EMT team arrived to transport him to a nearby hospital.

The teenager was reportedly treated for bruising on the head, arm, hip and leg. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

The rower, a member of his school's crew team and one of four on its varsity squad, crashed his Chevy Suburban on Eagle Road, just before 8 p.m. on Thursday. Although a police investigation is being conducted into whether or not drugs and alcohol were involved, Radnor Police are confident that it was unfortunately just an accident.

"He apparently lost control," authorities told The Inquirer. "He hit a curb, which caused his vehicle to roll into a tree."

The rower wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was consequently thrown from the SUV. An analysis from the Delaware County medical examiner's office revealed that the driver died of "multiple blunt force injuries" sustained from the crash.

The rower was expected to compete with his school's squads in that Friday's Stotesbury Cup Regatta at Boathouse Row in Philadelphia. Although Episcopal pulled its freshman and junior varsity teams from the race, the varsity squad opted to compete in remembrance of their fallen teammate. They had initially chosen against competing, but reconsidered, deciding that competing in the boys' varsity four — the 18-year-old rower's key event — would be the best way to remember their deceased friend.

The Episcopal Academy team qualified for this Saturday's championship race, which will include a moment of silence for the 18-year-old rower.

Most pups jump for the chance at a ride in the car, but one pampered pooch became a little too excited during a car ride late Monday morning. The car crash that ensued caused minor injury to the owner, and resulted in the canine going missing, according to NBC 10 Philadelphia.

Authorities told reporters that a woman lost control of her vehicle due to interference from her dog, who was riding with her in Berwick, Pennsylvania, at 11 a.m. Monday morning. The pup, a Cockapoo, somehow became entangled in the steering wheel, causing the woman to drive her sport-utility vehicle onto the sidewalk before crashing into a power line located outside a McDonald's. The car accident caused much of the street to lose power for a duration.

The driver, a 35-year-old woman, suffered an injury to her lip but was said to be otherwise unhurt. She had not been wearing a safety belt.

The Cockapoo who caused the crash is said to have jumped out the window at the time of the crash, and has not yet been found. Authorities aren't able to say whether or not the dog was injured in the accident.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested Sunday morning after losing control of her vehicle and striking a parked truck in Northeast Philadelphia, reports ABC 11 Eyewitness News.

According to authorities, the woman was driving west on Welsh Road, in the 2800 block, when she lost control and hit the truck. The impact of the initial accident caused the truck to in turn strike another parked vehicle. The woman's car flipped over on impact and continued traveling, hitting a fourth car that was driving eastbound on Welsh Road.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. Police officials and firefighters responded to the scene of the car crash, and firefighters had to free the woman from the vehicle on arrival. She was taken to Aria Health Torresdale Hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported in conjunction with the accident, however the woman is facing DUI charges. Her name has not yet been released by officials.

OSHA announced it has launched an inspection of the working conditions at Philadelphia International Airport following a high number of complaints from subcontracted workers relating to safe working conditions, according to news outlet Philly.com.

The complaints that spurred the investigation were mainly from baggage handlers and wheelchair attendants who cited a lack of necessary equipment as well as run-down or broken equipment, which presented the possibility of personal injury to workers as well as airport patrons using these services. Among other complaints listed were the lack of adequate training offered to employees and exposure to bodily fluids without access to the proper safety equipment. The OSHA inspection may take up to six months to complete.

One passenger was killed and three other individuals were injured in a car accident Thursday morning in North Manheim Township, outside of Philadelphia, according to 69 News.

The crash involved two vehicles traveling on Route 61 between Pottsville and Reading, Pennsylvania, at 8:30 Thursday morning. A 57-year-old driver heading southbound attempted to make a left-hand turn at an intersection and was struck by another vehicle. The driver, who had been positioned behind a tractor trailer truck, was not able to see that the signal had turned red before making the left turn.

The driver's car was struck by a second vehicle that was heading into the intersection in a perpendicular direction. A 59-year-old female passenger and East Stroudsburg native was killed in the accident. Both drivers as well as a back-seat passenger in the first car were injured, however authorities were not able to comment on the extent of their injuries. The victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police investigators were unable to give further details regarding the accident, however they spent quite some time attempting to reconstruct the scene and figure out exactly what had happened and why. A 14-month-old baby girl was taken to the hospital on Wednesday after her stroller rolled onto the tracks of Philadelphia's SEPTA commuter rail, according to NBC10 Philadelphia.

The event occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. According to authorities, surveillance cameras seemed to show a mother becoming briefly distracted moments before the stroller started to move toward the platform's edge. The stroller had not been locked into place.

The stroller fell against the outer rail, which was not carrying an electric current. The mother then jumped down into the track area to retrieve the girl, while a bystander alerted authorities by pressing the emergency call box button that alerted SEPTA authorities and enabled them to stop the approaching train – just one minute before  it was set to pull into the station.

The mother handed the child to a man on the platform above, while a second man jumped into the track area to help the mother herself get back onto the platform.

The girl was sent to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment of superficial injuries, however she is in stable condition.

A car accident occurred Wednesday morning when a pickup truck that had been pulling a trailer lost control of the vehicle and struck the concrete median on the eastbound side of the Pennsylvania turnpike, according to 6ABC Action News. The car crash took place at approximately 6:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, near the Willow Grove area around highway milepost 343.

The pickup truck struck the concrete barrier with a large amount of force, causing it to break apart and spill the concrete into the western-bound lanes. Cleanup crews responded quickly and worked to clear the rubble and damage from the pike, however the car accident caused considerable delays for morning commuters.

Police officials have not yet released information pertaining to the injuries that resulted from the car accident. A car accident with a school bus Tuesday morning left eight individuals injured, including seven elementary school students and another driver, according to Philly.com. The accident occurred in Burlington Township, outside Philadelphia, at the corner of Salem Street and Cynwyd Street. The area in which the car crash occurred is residential and not what authorities describe as "dangerous." The speed limit on Salem Street is 35 miles per hour.

The school bus was carrying a total of 15 students in addition to the bus driver. The second vehicle was a white Toyota Camry containing a single woman driver. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the car accident, and are debating whether citations or criminal charges should be filed.

Seven students were taken to two hospitals and treated for minor injuries. Six of the seven students were released by 10:15 a.m. and the seventh was released later that day. The remaining eight students were taken on to the school, where they were observed by the school nurse as well as a guidance counselor before being released to their parents. Several students on the bus line who were not involved in the crash stayed home from school that day, with parents reporting them to be too "shaken" to attend classes normally.

The Camry driver, whose name was not released, suffered the most serious injuries, although police and hospital officials have not released further details, according to the source.
